Warm Up
1. I really like the ideas of these upside pictures, at first you don't really know what your looking at but the more you stare at it, you realize what it is.
2. When i first looked at the photos i thought the mother where erased or something. But after a minute of looking at them i realized what it was.
3. i would love to do photography with just the eyes, you can tell a lot about a person from them. Eyes are the window to the soul.

Great Black and White Photographers Part 2
Garry Winogrand
Garry Winogrand was born 1928 in the Bronx. He did most of his best known work in Manhattan during the 1960s, he become one of the principal voices of the decade with his artistic style and the content of his photographs. Winogrand was known primarily for street photography, he produced twenty-thousand rolls of film during his lifetime. In 1964 he had a printed coffee table book called "Winogrand 1964". and a recently edited show. He was described at "fearless" and "prolifically". His subjects never seemed annoyed when he took photos of them. When he died he left behind 2,500 undeveloped roll of film and 6,500 roll of film that had been developed but not contact printed. Also left behind 300 untouched and unedited contact prints. He died 1984 at 56, because of his gallbladder cancer.
The Camera
1. Camera obscura effect was latin for "Dark room" and this was the first camera. The hole acted like a lens, focusing and projecting light onto the wall of the dark chamber.
2. Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses in the 17th century. This invention brought us closer to the modern camera.
3. Niépce added a glass lens, a dark box, and film. Which where the first modern parts to a camera.
4. The modern digital cameras have and Niépce's original camera both have; Light passing through the lens, into the camera, and exposing the film.
5. To capture an image on a modern digital camera, you just point and shoot.
6. The difference between auto mode and and program mode is that program mode is more for everyday use and auto mode controls flash and exposure.
7. Portrait mode is used for blurring the background and focusing on the subject.
8. sports mode is used to freeze motion and will use the biggest shutter speed possible.
9. When you half press the trigger button you point it at the subject and wait for the focus lock.
10. The symbol means there is no flash. The mood of the photograph can sometimes be more dramatic when the natural light is used. You use this when there is enough natural light or lighting.
11. The symbol means Auto-flash is enabled. It will automatically fire if the camera thinks it needs more light. You use this when there isn't enough light.
12. When there is too much light the picture will look washed out.
13. When there isn't enough light the picture will be to dark.
14. A "stop" is a relative change in the brightness.
15. If a planet had two suns it would be one stop brighter.
16. If a planet has four suns it would be two stops brighter.
17. The longer shutter speed affect is more light.
18. The sorter shutter speed affect is less light.
19. The Aperture controls the light reaching the film.
20. When adjusting the aperture, to increase the amount of light you must have larger openings.

Whats in a Name
Since my number is 5, the characteristics are very close to mine. I like expressing my thoughts and ideas, I'm usually not generious but i can be at times. Adventure is a big part of my life, I hope to travel the world, I have out of the box ideas that can be classified as "visionary". I thrive in my freedom but I work well with a team. Being a leader of a team is not my favorite position, but i like to contribute to the team. Friendships, partnerships and companionships are very important to me. I hate the idea of being alone. When I get close to people I become extremely attached to them, i feed off their emotions. If they are sad, then I am. I am very sypathetic (in certain aspects) towards people, I listen to both sides of the story and I never take sides.

I think the cartoon on page A9 means that ISIS (an Islamic extremist group) only has a vision of death, from what I've heard they are far worse than the Taliban. They are recruiting young people from other countries to kill. I do not know their reasoning behind this (The Taliban wants to "Cleanse"), but i do know that they only have eyes for killing.
4. How many people were killed in accidents over the holiday weekend? Page B1

Ash has a head injury and is injury-prone

The obituaries on page B4, all have the same things in them. Their age, where there passed away, and where the memorial is. If they have a picture and a little paragraph it contains; Their nickname, what they did and what they liked. Its a short biography on their life, but they never tell you how they died. If I was a reporter and I had to write obituaries I wouldn't be able to handle it. I have never experienced death as a young age so I never got around to the idea. I would have to pass so I wouldn't be an emotional wreck.
