Part 1
1.
Josh Birnbaum
Alyssa Schukar
Justin Mott
2. A. The judges liked how close he got to the subjects and they also liked how well he captured the moments and facial expressions on people's faces.B. I think the photographer had a lot of strengths like knowing when to center pictures and when to use the rule of thirds. I also think he did a really good job on framing photos. I don't see any weaknesses
3. In order to choose their winner, the judges had to go through all of the pictures sent in by the contestants, and count all of the good shots that each one had taken, and the one with the most, would win.
Part 2
1. I agree with the judges on the boxing photo because my eyes kept switching between the ref and the action that was going on
2. I disagree with the judges in part 2 because they rated the black and white photo second. Personally that photo was one of my least favorites and i would've made it maybe third place.
- Sports
- They thought some of his photos were nothing special, they didn't like his angles, and they didn't like the repeating photos
- They thought some of his photos were funny and some of the lighting
- I really don't care for this photographer that much because I agree with the judges. I think his photos were really boring and super cliche.
Alyssa Schukar
- Life
- They thought some of her photos were mediocre and people have done better, it was a downer, and she didn't out the bulimia story first (the pictures were out of order).
- They liked the lighting and the ways she cropped it
- I don't really like her photos because she could have done better and the were a downer
Justin Mott
- Stories, pictures from travels
- Don't intentionally go out of focus, Show full faces and bodies, Learn how to build a portfolio better.
- Nice quality photos, and good point of view
- I liked these photos, and I think he was smart to take pictures of things that are hard to touch subjects on.
