I picked this photo because it speaks to me. As a child i was taught to love people, and that violence was wrong. I couldn't help but pick it because amongst the fighting there is a small child willing to show love and peace. The way the photographer took the photo really played a key role, in the second image its tilted up a bit more. As if you where looking at the police like you where the child. I think this photo made the cut because in the first image it looks like the father is telling the child to be kind, and the child's posture doesn't indicate them being hesitant or scared. And in the second image it looks as if the officer with the balloon is crying, or is about to cry. You can see the sadness in their eyes.

I picked this photo because it does show that we all need each other and that no matter what religion we are we should put that aside and be nice to each other. The way the man on the left is looking to the side like he is conceded really helped me pick this photo. When i saw it i thought that maybe he was looking to the side because he was making sure that all the muslims would be inside the circle. I think this made the cut because it really does show how we should treat each other. Religion, race, social ranking, ect. It really doesn't matter. If someone is in trouble we help them, we cannot stand aside, we are all human.

I picked this photo because its still relevant today. There are peace protests still going on and people are using love and peace instead of force like the officers are. I really like the perspective of this photo, it shows the girl and the officers. And it looks as if she is trying to talk to the officers and they are just there stone faced, like they have no emotion. I think this photo made the cut because it became a symbol of the flower power movement, and its still connected with peaceful protests.
