Vogue, March, Power Issue

"Vogue’s annual Power issue features the actors, musicians, and personalities at the top of the cultural heap, and in 2013 no one held more social currency than Vogue’s March cover girl, Beyoncé. For his spare but glamorous portrait, Patrick Demarchelier seems to capture all of the singer, business mogul, fashion icon, wife, and, mother’s multi-hyphenated talent and beauty in a single snap. It’s a picture as formidable, yet likeable, as “Queen Bey” herself."

I really like the portrait because obviously it has Beyoncé, but i also like the lighting and her face is natural. But the cover describes her as 'Queen" and that she "Rules the world", but by her pose and face it doesn't seem like that. If you took the font off the first thing that would pop into my head wouldn't be "queen". Her pose and face make it seem like she isn't sure about herself, the pose would have been her looking strong, fierce, and independent; i would have described her as Queen. But by this pose and the way she looks isn't "Queen" worthy.
